    Who we are: The Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Foundation supports Seattle Children's mission to provide hope, care and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. The Foundation is in the public phase of a comprehensive campaign called It Starts with Yes, The Campaign for Seattle Children's, with a $1 billion goal.

     

    The Foundation's team is 60+ dedicated professionals who collaboratively work to build enduring philanthropic relationships for Seattle Children's through a nationally recognized, robust fundraising program. The comprehensive program includes major and annual gifts, corporate donations, private grants, legacy gifts, and the nation's largest Guild Association, made up of passionate volunteers who support our mission through fundraising projects and events.

     

    We have a vision to be the charity of choice in the Pacific Northwest and a global leader in pediatric healthcare philanthropy. Thanks to our donors, in the fiscal year that ended September 30, 2017, the Foundation raised $115 million in private support for child health. Annually the Foundation receives in excess of 100,000 gifts, including nearly 30 leadership gifts of $1 million+.

     

    What you will do: In partnership with the other Senior Director of Development, responsible for directing and managing all fundraising activities related to the acquisition of planned gifts including trusts and bequests, gifts of assets or life insurance proceeds or gift annuity plans. Work with Foundation and leadership to develop and implement a strategic plan designed to identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with key planned giving donors and prospects and professional advisors. Direct operational activities designed to support planning, execution and fulfillment. Be a key resource for all portfolio holders around legacy and trust services.

    Requirements

    Required Education/Experience:
    - Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional designation
    - Professional certification in the field of planned giving, financial or estate planning
    - Minimum seven years successful experience in planned giving or a related field such as major gift fund raising, law, accounting/finance, trust administration, life insurance or financial planning.


    Required Credentials:
    - n/a

    Preferred:
    - Prior planned giving experience in a hospital or university setting. Professional certification in the field of planned giving, financial or estate planning: CSPG, CAP, CFP, CPA, LLM or JD.
