  • Overview

    What you will do: A strategic and agile leader who works closely with the Sr. Director of Learning and Organizational Development and Seattle Children’s leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate the workforce learning plan. Drives and owns results to ensure that the workforce has the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities required to grow the organization’s strategic needs and goals to meet the needs of our patients and families. Establish and implement comprehensive workforce development and training initiatives through integration of a culture of learning at all levels of the organization. Programs of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Leadership, Employee, and Career Development Programs. This includes working collaboratively with other leaders to implement the organization’s learning vision and organizational development strategy. Empower team members to execute and facilitate the development and delivery of learning opportunities through coaching and managing daily operations.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategies intended to align the education function with the business needs of the organization and to evaluate the outcomes of education programs in terms of both individual and organization performance.  Design, develop, implement, evaluate and sustain Seattle Children’s Academy intended to develop and sustain measurable continuous performance improvement throughout the organization.
    •  Collaborate with internal clients to identify educational needs, target audiences, learning outcomes, roles and responsibilities required to successfully implement, market and sustain education programs and change initiatives.

    • Work closely with leaders to provide expertise and counsel on change management, leadership development (coaching, assessment & development planning), performance excellence (performance management, succession planning, professional development, employee engagement, team effectiveness and other talent management processes), organization design, workforce strategy and cultural change
    • Develop, execute and evaluate organizational development strategies to support and enhance improvement and replication initiatives.  Collaborate with leaders to design, implement and evaluate organizational systems to support Seattle Children's. 
    • Plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate the activities of internal and external learning resources.  Determine appropriate internal/external resource mix to accomplish departmental and organizational goals.  Identify, evaluate, and contract with external training and OD contractors to meet organizational needs. Continually evaluate technology and eLearning resources; recommends appropriate acquisition to support organizational needs.

    Requirements

    - Bachelor’s degree in training, education, or business management.
    - Minimum of 5 years experience in the design and delivery of adult education and training programs.
    - Minimum of 4 years experience in a management role.

    Preferred
    - Master’s degree in education, Instructional Design, Organization Development, or Business Management.
