    RN position with Seattle Children’s Home Infusion Team is based out of the Bothell Home Care Services location. Liaison role within this position will start at the main campus. Additionally, nurses will travel to patient homes to support home infusion visits. This position is available as a 0.75, 0.85 or 1.0FTE depending on candidate preferences.

    • Home Infusion RN position includes providing patient and caregiver infusion-based education, direct care for central line dressing changes and lab draws, PIV placement in conjunction with administration of in-home medication infusions, phone triage for troubleshooting infusion related questions, and liaison work to support the flow of patient information gathered from rounding with referral sources.
    • This position is part of an interdisciplinary team that will create individualized care plans and monitor patient progress toward goals. Requires close collaboration with the patient and caregivers, providers, and other members of the care team to support care across the continuum.
    • Participation in rotating on-call support for weekends and holidays is required. Commute to and from Bothell, main hospital campus, regional clinics, and patient homes within service area is required. Mileage reimbursement provided per policy. Company vehicles will be available for use.


    As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc.

    In accordance with House Bill 1155 (effective January 1, 2020), the following areas have clinical unpredictable needs and as a result will have a call obligation within their nursing positions: Apheresis, Cardiac Cath Lab, Dialysis, ECMO, Home Care Services, Imaging Services (including GI Procedures), Perioperative Services, and Transplant Coordinators.


    Required Education/Experience:
    - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
    - Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
    - Per the driver's license requirement noted below, must have a driving record acceptable to Risk Management.

    Required Credentials:
    - Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.

    - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above. Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position.

    - Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PEARS within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times:
    - Infusion

    - Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain a Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card from the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times:
    - Acute Care Float (Nurse Travelers are exempt from this requirement)
    - Cancer Care Unit
    - Hematology/Oncology
    - Infusion

    - Any position that requires use of a motor vehicle will require a current Washington State Driver's license.

    - If assigned to a Home Care Services department, a copy of required education for this position (diploma or transcript) must be submitted upon hire.

    - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
    - Pediatric health care nursing experience.

    - Knowledge of central line management and troubleshooting (PICC, Port, Hickman, Broviac) to support home infusion

    - Patient and Caregiver education experience

    - Experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team

    - Flexibility, adaptability and experience functioning in dynamic work settings as patient care needs shift

    - Infusion experience

    - PIV placement competency prior to hire. On the job training will be provided.
