Join our top notch Research Building and Engineering team in support of Seattle Children's mission. This position will be a member of our Building and Engineering team located in downtown Seattle that supports over 1 million square footage of clinical and laboratory space and 2000 staff members.
- Direct operation of boiler room, machine rooms, and related lab building support systems.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and testing of complex building systems and their controls including utilizing Building Automation Systems for adjustments and repairs.
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers within limits of Seattle Boiler Fireman Grade 3 license.
- Assist with furniture/equipment moving and relocation.
- On call hours required.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Five (5) years' experience in building/industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Per the driver's license requirement noted below, must have a driving record acceptable to Risk Management.
- Washington State Electrical License and/or City of Seattle Refrigeration License w/EPA Universal Certification for Refrigerant.
- City of Seattle 3rd grade Steam Engineer license, or obtain Grade 4 Boiler Fireman within 1 year, and obtain Grade 3 Steam Engineer within 2.5 years.
- Class A/B Operators UST Certification for Underground Storage tank, or obtain within 18-Months.
- Current Washington State driver’s license.
- Washington State EL07 Maintenance Electrician.
- Two (2) years' trade school in Building/Industrial Maintenance.
- Ten (10) years' experience in building/industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical systems.
