Overview

Work on the development of new drugs for the treatment of neglected infectious diseases.  We conduct preclinical drug development using structure based methods and computational design tools.  Infectious diseases we study include Malaria, Cryptosporidiosis and primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) aka brain eating amoeba.

 

Primary job duties will be to maintain a small molecule database and conduct computational docking and modeling experiments.  A firm understanding of protein structure and biochemistry is required.  Laboratory duties and skills development are possible based on interests of the applicant including cell culture, protein purification, and assay development.

 

Will report to a senior research scientist in the Myler laboratory.

Requirements

Required:

 

- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, computer science, molecular biology, or related field

- One year’s relevant research lab experience (e.g. chemistry)

 


Preferred:

 

-At least two years of relevant research lab experience (e.g. molecular biology, chemistry) 

-Familiarity with computers including spreadsheets, databases and molecular modelling software.

- Working knowledge of protein structure and structure-based docking software. 

- Familiarity with programming languages for data science
