Overview

Seattle Children's is looking for an experienced Social Worker to be a Supervisor within our awesome Social Work team! This is a working supervisor position with 40% of the role dedicated to overseeing a team of 8-10 Social Workers and 60% of the role in a direct Social Work position. The 60% portion of the work will focus on acute and chronic medically complex patients. This Supervisor role will work within the Oncology department.

Social Work Supervisor duties include:

  • Oversee the delivery of clinical social work services and provide supervision to social work staff within a specific program area.
  • Serve in a significant leadership role for the department and hospital.
  • As a senior clinician, provide advanced clinical social work services to children with acute and chronic illness, their families, the staff of Seattle Children’s Hospital and the community in a managed care environment.
  • Lead in the promotion of culturally appropriate family-centered care and wellness of patients and families by identifying, interpreting, and reducing psychosocial factors contributing to illness.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals for staff.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:


- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

 

- Five (5) years of post master’s experience, to include: experience in crisis intervention with children/families; multidisciplinary team experience; pediatric experience; experience supervising social work practice.

 

- Paid or internship experience in health care or a clinical setting focusing on children and families.

 

- Ability and flexibility to work evening, night, and weekend shifts as well as provide on-call coverage.

Required Credentials:
- Washington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

- Multilingual
- Multicultural
- Protective Services experience
- Mental Health experience
