In partnership with the Executive Director of the Family Health Equity Institute this position will contribute to the strategic development of the Institute and partnerships developed within the communities the Institute serves to promote and facilitate the well being of children, adolescents, young adults and child bearing persons who reside in those communities.


This position will lead Community Engagement Strategy in support of a community partnered process for regional equity programs and community driven research. In partnership with communities, set, monitor and evaluate outcome measures, utilizing process improvement methodologies to make program improvements. Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies and organizations in response to community needs and in a manner that supports the mission and goals of the UW/ Seattle Children’s Family Health Equity Institute.


Maintain and foster the UW/ SCH partnership in the combined efforts of the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics for outreach to communities in the WWAMI area to support the community identified needs with proven programing or shared research objectives to address concerns and areas of prevention within the pre-conception, pregnancy , post conception period as well and childhood though young adulthood development. Develop outreach processes to support the ongoing goals of the Institute.


Telecommuting and travel may be required at times.


Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; OR, equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years experience working with communities from diverse backgrounds.
- Work experience in a community advocacy, health care liason or human services setting.
- Lived experience informing how to support BIPOC community health and wellness.

- N/A

- Health equity experience
- Bilingual – Spanish, Somali or other language represented in the community
Master’s degree in business, public administration, health administration, public health, social work, or related field, or equivalent combination of education/ experience in a large health care organization, including internal and external accountabilities
- Experience with decision making processes and leading change in a large healthcare organization or academic health center; working
knowledge of large healthcare organization’s structure.
