Seattle Children's is looking for a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department. We have a 38 bed ED which sees a wide variety of very complex and highly acute cases. Our team is proud to have been granted two consecutive Lantern Awards by the Emergency Nurses Association.
Seattle Children's Emergency Department is dedicated to caring for babies, children, teens and young adults, providing complete, coordinated care for them in one location. Our team has extensive experience providing state-of-the-art emergency care especially for young patients. A lead doctor, called an attending doctor, is in our Emergency Department 24 hours a day, every day. We offer round-the-clock access to Seattle Children's experts in more than 30 pediatric specialties and to the full facilities of our hospital. We are a Level 1 pediatric trauma center with 38+ licensed beds, a teaching/magnet designated hospital, with nursing shared governance, and have an average patient ratio of 1:4.
This is a full time, exempt position.
This is an Evening shift position and 80% of hours will start at 3pm.
The Nurse manager:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. A Master’s degree in Nursing may be substituted provided the incumbent also possesses a Bachelor’s degree in another field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Current Washington State RN license.
- National certification in a clinical specialty area must be obtained within three years of employment.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for RN's performing moderately complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency.
- A copy of Bachelor's degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of Bachelor's degree (or higher) in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.
- Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN).
In accordance with new Washington law for healthcare workers, Seattle Children’s requires that all staff be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on or before October 18, 2021, or before beginning employment for start dates after October 18th.
