Responsibilities

Summary of position:

 

We are seeking Research Scientist I with interests in hematopoietic cell therapies, gene editing, and translational immunology.  This scientist will work with a research team focused on generating and testing hematopoetic stem cell gene editing approaches for treating blood and immune disorders.  You will join a robust, established team that is expanding upon our gene editing platforms (see for example PMID: 32493794; 26424571; 31722988; 31279229), maximizing your potential to achieve high impact research publications and therapeutic products.  The projects are collaborative and supported by biotech, NIH, and institutional funding sources, and the laboratory is led by Dr. David Rawlings, Director of  the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help to design, execute and interpret experiments to generate and test novel immune therapies
  • Develop and refine in vitro assays to evaluate cellular products
  • Present data at internal meetings and contribute data to manuscripts and patents

 

Knowledge, skills and Abilities:

  • Be comfortable in fast paced environment and able to work collaboratively
  • Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Effective data collection, reduction and summary skills
  • Think critically, trouble shoot, and problem solve
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work across projects
  • Able to follow both verbal and written instruction

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in biology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology or biochemistry.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Experience:

- Some experience with research laboratory techniques such as cell culture or molecular biology.

Min to Max Hourly Salary

Min: USD $24.36/Hr. Max: USD $36.54/Hr.

Min to Max Annual Salary

Min Salary: USD $50,668.80/Hr. Max Salary: USD $76,003.20/Hr.

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
