Assess, design, implement and evaluate instructional programs, and facilitate post-discharge placement for hospitalized children and youths in order to fulfill Children’s annual school services contract with OSPI and Seattle School District.
This is a part-time 0.5 FTE (40 hours in a bi-weekly pay period) position. The ideal schedule would be every Thursday & Friday and every other Wednesday on day shift. We are looking for special education teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Master’s degree in Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one year teaching experience in public or independent school setting
- Current WA State Teaching Certificate
- Prior to the start of employment, individuals are required to submit a copy of a receipt directly to Human Resources (electronically) confirming they have completed the fingerprinting process as outlined by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
- Experience working as school counselor
- Experience working in a mental health setting
- Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Special education endorsement with experience teaching in a special education setting
- Three years teaching experience
- Familiarity with special education practices and state and federal regulations for this population of students
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
This compensation range is specific to Seattle, positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors.
