The SEPS lab (http://faculty.washington.edu/seps ) at the Center for Integrative Brain Research, Seattle Children's Research Institute and the University of Washington invites applications for several R01-funded postdoctoral positions. Work in the SEPS lab focuses on shared molecular pathology among the many genetic causes of autism.
The successful candidate will work closely with a technician and graduate/undergraduate students to plan and supervise several parallel lines of investigation involving primary neuronal cell culture, genetic mouse models, and human iPS cells. The candidate will be expected to independently move projects forward, write papers, and apply for F32 or equivalent grants. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform precise wetlab work and complex bioinformatics analyses. Prior experience with human iPS cell culture and MatLab or R programming would be beneficial. Creative, big-picture thinking and dedication to autism research are essential.
The selected candidate will join the vibrant research community at CIBR, located on the top floor of a newly renovated building in downtown Seattle. A modern, open lab space, a collegial atmosphere, on-site gym and rooftop garden, and top-of-the-line equipment, office space and meeting rooms make this an ideal training environment.
Collaborates with patient care units to create and implement staffing plans based on unit needs, available resources, and in accordance with established policies and collective bargaining agreements. Applies standard work and critical thinking to adjust staffing plans required to account for unplanned absences, census fluctuations, RN skill mix and changes in unit needs. Maintains a high level of accuracy while supporting multiple areas in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines for contracted staff as defined by their collective bargaining agreement and payroll polices. Maintains a working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and payroll practices in performing this role; exceptions are referred to the manager/designee or director as appropriate. Provides behavior intervention and skill development curricula to individuals and families/caregivers of individuals with developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral problems in a behavior analytic program. Interventions and curricula may be provided in individual or small group settings under the supervision of a Qualified Healthcare Professional (Includes, but is not limited to, Behavioral Analyst (I and/or II), Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, and/or Clinical Director).
Collect data on programs and skills, provide oral and written updates on patient progress and assist in discharge planning activities. Work in collaboration with program leadership on special projects as appropriate.

Establishes and oversees the daily operations of the Waste Management Plan based on city, county, state and Federal Regulations. Maintains regulatory and accreditation standards. Authors, Co-authors all Reports required by city, county, State and Federal agencies. Responsible for development and expansion of system recycling programs, composting work with waste reduction initiatives and sustainability efforts. Responsible for development/training related to Annual First Responder, Waste Management, Haz-Wopper Certification.
Responsible for working with department leadership to develop, implement and evaluate departmental goals, strategies, programs, and projects that support Hospital goals and the Value Stream Process. Plan, develop and execute comprehensive Environmental Services (ES) quality management and continuous quality improvement program supporting established goals and timelines.
Responsible for orientation, ongoing education, and competency/skills training for areas of responsibility. Assesses the educational and training needs of employees in order to meet skill and competency requirements of jobs required by regulatory agencies. Evaluates the effectiveness of delivered training programs utilizing quantitative and qualitative measurements.
Scope of work includes developing and implementing programs for management, orientation of new employees to the organization, and supporting employee development programs. Participates in process improvement to determine training gaps within the team; identifies additional training needs, synthesizes research and findings to present training needs to management and execute training to staff.
Implements professional development, continuing education and training initiatives ensuring consistent practices, sustainable programs, and employee. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) program and CSCT (Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician) program for staff. These programs have the potential to make a positive impact on infection rates, costs, quality of care, patient experience and outcomes.

Responsible for managing a portfolio of grants, including grant and contract proposal preparation, fiscal process review and budget development, effort management, closeout and reporting oversight, and maintenance of grant management tracking systems. Will serve as a liaison between the Center Business Office, Principal Investigators (PIs), fiscal and administrative support personnel, clinical research staff, and central Research Support Services divisions.
This is primarily a remote position with flexibility to be based in the following states: Washington, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Montana, and Alaska.
Assist the assigned division research team in the organization, implementation and completion of clinical research trials. Maintain regulatory documents; assist the Principal Investigator in the planning of protocol implementation and site initiation visits and routine monitoring of clinical studies. Along with the PI, ensure that research projects are conducted in compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies/departmental guidelines, and standards of Good Clinical Practice.

Registered Nurse - Gender Surgery Clinic (0.6 FTE)
Responsibilities will include pre and post-op patient education, care coordination and back office support; phone calls, patient triage, patient/family follow up.
May include work in our secondary regional work sites (Bellevue, Everett, Federal Way) as assigned.

Support guided management and coordination of the Washington’s Mental Health Referral Service for Children and Teens within Children’s Hospital’s Psychiatry department, Partnership Access Line (PAL).
Support to deliver mental health education as part of every referral service:

The incumbent also participates in the assurance of the data integrity for current and future use in strategic initiatives, continuous quality improvement efforts and hospital goals.
