We are looking for a Research Scientist I to expand the Bioproduction Core team. This is an exciting core that produces lentivirus and T-cell products, performs isolations of pure T-Cell populations, does clinical lentivirus stability testing, and does hemopoietic Stem cell expansions, all under GMP-like conditions. These products are for use in both in vitro and in vivo research experiments throughout the entire lab and affect the overall timeline for research the lab can achieve. This work is highly cross-disciplinary, collaborative, and impactful, all of which will require an individual to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.     Specific responsibilities will include assisting in the production of large-scale Lentiviral and novel engineered T-cell products, isolation of pure T-Cell populations, and expansions of Hematopoietic Stem Cells. Candidates will be responsible for analyzing products and using methods including Lentivirus titer functional assays and multi-parameter flow cytometry. Candidates will also contribute to supporting regular laboratory operations, including product order tracking, electronic lab note-booking, tissue culturing, cryopreservation, reagent preparation, and equipment maintenance.

The candidate will join with the growing Sickle Cell Program at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic as well as provide neuropsychological services to children with a variety of other medical, neurological, and developmental disorders in multidisciplinary and outpatient settings. This position will involve a primary focus on the population of children with sickle cell disease, but opportunities exist to work with other populations served by the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology and Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, including those with traumatic brain injury (including concussion), stroke, CNS infections, demyelinating diseases of the CNS, and other neurological conditions.   Primary responsibilities will include conducting outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and consultations, actively engaging and consulting with a multidisciplinary team to support patient care, providing education to families, and consulting with schools and community providers. Opportunities exist within SCH to participate in research, hospital-wide rounds and training opportunities, outreach and educational initiatives, teaching of psychology and medical trainees, and quality improvement projects within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic.   Salary and benefits are competitive. The Department of Laboratories at Seattle Children’s Hospital is recruiting a full-time hematopathologist faculty member (MD, DO, or MD/PhD) and associate director of the Hematology core laboratory. Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in Hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology. Experience in flow cytometry is required, as is training/experience with laboratory oversight. Ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric hematopathology. Candidates with suitable academic records would be eligible for an appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington.   We seek an outstanding hematopathologist physician who demonstrates excellence in clinical care, translational research, and education. The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal and managerial skills. Hematopathology responsibilities include morphologic interpretation of bone marrows, peripheral blood, lymph nodes and other tissues; flow cytometry analysis of leukemias and lymphomas (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing), PNH, and immunology tests; and continuing education for physicians and staff. The successful applicant will also serve as Associate Director of Hematology for the Core Laboratory; therefore, interest overseeing a clinical laboratory section is also desired. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborative research and the individual may choose to develop or continue an academic program.
