About Torbett Lab and projects   The laboratory of Dr. Bruce E. Torbett (www.torbettlab.org) is looking for a Senior Post Doctoral Fellow to work on projects related to the Structural and Biophysical Interactions of HIV Gag/Gag-Pol polyproteins with their host cell proteins during viral trafficking and assembly. This work aims to investigate how HIV co-opts cellular host machinery during active infection and identify the composition, dynamics, and function of novel host-viral interfaces that can be modulated for new therapeutic strategies. This work involves studies utilizing proximity labeling and quantitative proteomics, along with biochemical and virological validation of candidate cellular factors using CRISPR/Cas9 knockouts and confocal imaging techniques. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field with documented experience (work or academic) in Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics to identify host-factors of microbial infections, along with experience in target validation using relevant in vivo and in vitro assays.   The group works as a highly dynamic and interactive team and is part of the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) of Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI). Our studies are funded through a number of grants from the NIH (including the flagship HIVE Center). The Department of Psychiatry at Seattle Children’s is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or PA-C with at least 1 year of experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry to join our multidisciplinary team of providers. The PMHNP or PA-C will provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for the clinical management of pediatric patients admitted to the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU). The PMHNP or PAC-C will be responsible for obtaining patient histories, evaluating patients, performing physical exams as appropriate, ordering and interpreting labs or other diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, and developing and modifying treatment plans. The PMHNP or PAC-C will also direct and participate in coordination of treatment planning following discharge. As applicable, the PMHNP or PA-C will collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, psychologists, mental health therapists, case managers, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high-quality care. Job responsibilities may also include evaluation and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department with behavioral health concerns, consulting with medical teams of patients hospitalized in other medical units and supporting patient care in partial hospitalization programs and/or intensive outpatient programs. The PMHNP or PA-C will contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects and may be offered opportunities to participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team.          #LI-SK1 Required service, to maintain clinical competencies and functional team relationships, and to meet the business needs of the division: 1. The Project Manager I is responsible for the management, planning, and coordination of a project’s activities to ensure that goals or objectives of the project(s) are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects. Establishes work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project(s), and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Management efforts include scheduling and budgeting activities and require collaboration with leaders to implement the project’s objectives in support of identified goals and the continuous improvement process. Responsible to monitor the project’s effectiveness and to mobilize stakeholders in support of continuous improvement in project initiatives. May work across departments to ensure effective project execution/implementation. Oversees the process of executing initiatives essential for the success of the project, including communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external. May oversee and lead a project team. This level exercises independent judgment subject to general review. SERIES CONCEPT: A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. A project is temporary in that it has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources. And a project is unique in that it is not a routine operation, but a specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal. So a project team often includes people who don’t usually work together – sometimes from different functional areas and across multiple geographies. We're hiring Registered Nurses for our Cancer Care Unit. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $10k for qualified external candidates (experienced pediatric hem/onc BMT RNs with a minimum of 2 years of experience in this specialty).   FT, 0.9 FTE, 3 12 hour shifts, Nights   Our Cancer Care Unit was designed with patients, families and caregivers in mind. It has 48 beds in private rooms with natural light and innovative design. We treat all childhood blood cancers and blood disorders, including rare and complex diseases, and providing blood and marrow transplant services. Our doctors, nurses and many other team members are experts at working with children and young adults up to age 21 for all conditions and up to age 30 for select diagnoses. We offer a wide range of diagnostic services and treatments available in our specially designed state-of-the-art facility for cancer patients. Because our doctors take part in national and international research studies, and often lead them, we can offer new treatment options.    As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc.
